'66 ORIG P.S. CAP DIP STICK MARKINGS

I noticed the original, steel cap for my p.s. pump is shorter than the replacement and only marked on the stick for checking hot. Was automatic transmission fluid actually used originally in these pumps as marked on the original cap?

Automatic transmission fluid was the normal "factory-fill" for 1967 power steering pumps.
