Rear spring colors '59-er

Hi all,

I'm in the middle of preparing for flight judging and I was wondering what color the rear spring leaves should be for a 59 Vette (since I've heard that an 58 had the top spring leaf being silver and the others black). The current original springs all seams to be black but they might be painted in the past.

Any help is appreciated...

All leafs are black on 59.

It looks like your springs are original. Check the spring dates to see if they match, or are close. They may also give you a clue as to the build date of your car. There shold be a string of numbers representing the day of the year made, followed by "E" for Eaton and either an "8" for early '59, or "9" for those made after Jan 1, 1959.
