    Hi all,

This is your chance to become a founding member: the Dutch Chapter is currently in the process of becoming alive. We have produced a website (http://www.ncrs.nl) with some information and a facility to join.

The first 25 members will be known for now and ever as our founding members!!!

Please visit our site and feel free to ever visit our events!

    greetings,
    Rob Musquetier

    Re: Founding members

    Rob,

Does a founding member have to be a regular member? Or can we be one of the other levels?
Also, uh, in American money, is it $10US or $10 other currency? And what types of payment will be accepted?

    Thanks,

With our large Dutch community here in Michigan, maybe we could make the Michigan Chapter, a brother chapter?

          Clare,

As the Vice Chairman for our Michigan Chapter, West, headquartered here in Holland, MI, I just joined the Dutch Chapter.
Not a bad idea, to see if they need support of a "brother" Chapter.
My ancestry is 100% Dutch (despite the Irish first name - don't know what my parents were thinking), so I thought I'd be a natural fit.

Patrick, I noticed your last name, Hulst and figured it was Dutch. I lived in west Michigan while attending college. Lots of Dutch Americans. Good looking woman over there too!

              Hi Patrick,

Thanks for showing an interest to support our intended local chapter! We are looking at all means to getting this started in our little flat country...

The $ mentioned in the sponsor membership are indeed intended to be US dollar. I will update the site to reflect this!

A foundind member can be any type of member, including sponsor member. It doesn't distinguise you from any other member, unless you look at your membership number (typical

                Clare,

Thanks you very much for joining our chapter, we are very happy and surprised about the overwhelming support we get from our restorer colleagues in the States!!!

We certainly are welcoming the Michigan Chapter as our brother/sister chapter, we could use all the help we can, e.g. ideas for chapter events, how to setup the chapter, examples of by-laws, magazine articles and judging support during future local chapter events...

                greetings,
                Rob.

                  Why can't I log-in?

                    Hi Donald,

I just saw your subscription comming in. Thanks for supporting us by joinin g our rapidly growing chapter.

You should be able to login right away but the restricted area is still to be formed so please be patient for a couple of weeks. When logged in the login edit field disappear and you should be able to change your own account information.

Payment can be done easiest via PayPal (via rob.musquetier@itcap.nl). Otherwise I'll discuss payment matters via mail (since these differ a bit between Europe and the States).

greetings and thanks again for joining,
                    Rob.

                      Re: Founding members

The idea of being a 'big brother' to a start-up chapter is EXCELLENT, guys! Rocky Mountain Chapter kinda did this for both the UK and Australian chapters....

BUT, the payoff will be not just in giving them 'body count' on their petition to the NCRS National Board of Directors, rather, forking out the $$$ to get on a plane, go across the pond, roll up your sleeves and HELP them work through their first Flight Judging Meet!

Here (Stateside), it's pretty 'easy' to found a chapter because there are experienced fellow NCRS members to lend a hand in getting down that learning curve of how to conduct a judging event. When you're remote, it's a bigger challenge to overcome.

So, expect to set aside air travel money in addition to that initial membership fee and prepare to become ACTIVE during the first few formative years. The friendships you'll make by reaching across the pond in this manner are PRICELESS!

Also, I suggest the new treasurer investigate setting up a PayPal account tied to the chapter's checking account. That way you make it painless for us Yanks to tender USD with automatic Euro conversion (use for annual membership billing, collection of Chapter Meet fees, Etc.) and there's no charge for a PayPal account!

                            Hi Craig,

Good to hear you are also considering to join, we need all the help we can get to get the chapter started and therefor we are already overwhelmed with the response so far! It is very nice so many US colleague restorers are helping us out in getting 'the party started'. We are looking forward to meet you all at one of our future event!

Payments can be made via my PayPal account (until we got this sorted out via the chapter account). The account is rob.musquetier@itcap.nl
