    '66 Blower Motor A/C

    Hello,

This is the blower motor currently in my car. I would like some advice on what kind and where I might find one that would be correct for the car in appearance. Is this something that could be found NOS or do I need a used original.

Is there anything else that looks to be missing or incorrect? I read something about A/C cars having a cooling tube. Does that seem to be intact?

    Thanks,

    Ian

Original blower motor was Delco Remy and most were date coded on the mounting flange. This one appears to have been through the hands of an independent rebuilder (hence, the green/white label).

If getting the car dead nuts on is your objective, you can walk the scrap yards and pull a donor blower motor off a 66 passenger car equipped with A/C and use that. And, yes the A/C blower motors had a cooling tube...

The picture you posted shows your's is perfectly intact; it's the elbow joining the LH side of the blower motor 'can' to the air box. That allows cool air from the plenum to bathe the blower motor's windings. Non A/C cars had blower motors that lacked the entryway for the cooling elbow.
