Converting another frame for a '63????

Being from Hawaii, needless to say, my '63's frame has had it. The area by the kick up and the differential cross member have been eaten up. I can get my hands on a '79-'82 frame but what are the differences between the '63 and the '79-'82? The rest of my '63 frame is in really good shape and I could use the cross members/ body mounts/ and other pieces on the '79-'82. Is this doable?
    Thanks and Aloha.

There are many differences, I would call Mike @ Americas Finest Corvettes, he has a lot of frame experience and might have one for sale (if thats an option for you) or some helpful insights, his # is 1-760-443-8982

      Thanks Alec...I'll try him.

I wish I could find a '63 or '64 in nice shape. I'd have it sent to RediStrip for resto and then have it shipped here.

Also try, Caledonia Classic Cars 1-888-245-5224. They are in Michigan. I've seen them at Carlisle. Maybe others will chime in if they have used them.

Here is the contact info for Caledonia Classic Cars, Gary Crump, President. Phone (616) 891-0065 They do frame and specialty Corvette restorations. Very nice work. They are located at 9595 Cherry Valley in Caledonia, MI 49316. You might also check with Vette Products http://www.vetteproducts.net in Lake Orion MI. They build frames and frame components. Either one should have what you need to fix your frame. All you need on your end is a top notch welder to jig it up and repair it. I'd check with a local frame and collision shop to see if they can help you.
