    4 wheel alignment

After putting new proper size tires on my 67 Vette, I want to get a 4 wheel alignment. There were wider size tires on before, and the rear has been adjusted to accomodate the former tires, as the car now sits with the new tires not straight up. The bottom of tires ( on rear ) are farther outward then the tops of tires. It squats a bit ! How does one adjust them to sit straight up ? Thanks, Frank T.

the camber is made with the strut rod. under the differential is a cam bolt trun that until you get the wheel like you want it. you can do it at home but I would take it to a good alignment shop, had mine a few weeks ago just 49.00 bucks not bad for a 4 wheel alignment that took 3 hours!

WOW where did you find it for $49? I want to replace my bushings and the local shop I use wants to do a front and rear for over $125.

at a Modica bros tire. the man who does the work has done my vette for years starting with my 79 L-82. He did not want to set the toe on my last car because of the T-arm bolts he has broke some. I have had all of my rear end out an new parts instaled. he told me he would let me do the toe. as luck would have I did not need to set it it was dead on. lucky me the reason it was so long was on the upper shims the bolt started truning on the a arm on the pas side an that took us some time to fix. other than that an he still only charged me 49.00 cool huh

          Frank -

Changing tire size will have no effect whatsoever on rear alignment; it doesn't change unless the adjustments on the chassis are altered. The negative camber you mention may simply be more noticeable with different tires/wheels. For normal driving, a rear camber setting of zero to 1/2-degree negative works very nicely.
