'66 L72 fuel pump to carb y block and line finish?

I have gone thru the archives and reviewed Mr Ogilvie's article/photos in the recent Restorer but am not clear on the finish of the fuel lines and y block between the fuel pump and carb.

The JG states that the fuel line is chrome plated. Mr. Ogilvie's color photo on the back cover of the Restorer indicates the lines are not chromed. The y block finish is not stated in my JG (3rd ed, just ordered the 4th). My guess is that the y block should be zinc plated brass, but am not sure.

Also, is anyone who has done this research and can suggest a vendor who supplies these items with the correct finish? I'm seeing a lot of chome plated or stainless stuff listed in various catalogs.

Thanks to all in advance. regards, Larry

Re: '66 L72 fuel pump to carb y block and line fin

    Larry-----

I don't believe that any Corvette big blocks ever used a chrome-plated fuel line (fuel pump to carb). Some small blocks did, though. The big block fuel lines were all TBW (tinned bundy weld) steel tubing.

The fuel block used for 1966 L-72 was zinc plated brass

I have original lines and block on my 66 L72. The lines are steel and the block in zink plated. Long Island Corvette has the complete line set which appears to be correct.

The block we are speaking of connects the vertical fuel line from the pump - spliting the line to the two lines that feed the front and rear of the Holley Carb. The block is suspended between the lines and is not fastened to anything else.
