Have Delco Remy coil with part number 535U? or 5350? or 535J? not clear on the last digit. ser # 16988, can anyone help with this application? appears to be a high energy coil (has vertical fins on body). any help would be greatly appreciated......

By the way, you typed your name too fast - I always ask for the "preview" before I post a massage... Helps to avoid, but does not eliminate (as you can see) such typing mistakes.
I don't have a specific answer for you. However, the coil that you describe does not sound like a PRODUCTION-type coil for any application that I'm familiar with. Certainly, it's not a PRODUCTION coil used for any 1953-04 Corvette.
Over the years, Delco had available a number of "over-the-counter" coils for high performance applications. In general, these were not application-specific pieces but, rather, more-or-less "generic" types of pieces that could be used with a wide array of high performance applications. I would guess that's what you have.
