    C-1 Flywheel Timing Marks

According to the service manual the steel ball is suppose to be the correct timing mark when aligned with the pointer. But I've noticed two
other marks on my 54 6 cyl flywheel. One is an upside down triangle and the other is the number 2 to either side of the steel ball.

Does anyone know the significance of these marks? The triangle is before the steel ball (as the flywheel rotates) so could it be this is an advanced setting and the "2" is after the steel ball, so could it indicate 2 degrees ATDC setting.!?

As always, thank's in advance for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
