I need to replace the surge tank on my 67 Corvette. My car has a August 66 build date. What date should the surge tank be. Would 66H corect or 66G be better. The tank on the car is a replacement. It actually has a 83E. I don't know if this tank is even legit since no 83L corvette was produced.

Re: C2 Surge Tank Date
Ralph - Noland Adam's book shows in the survey part that '67s w/ S/Ns 752, 1418, and 1560 has surge tanks dated 66G and my '67 S/N 1476 also has a 66G tank. So, as John recommended 66G would be the "best" call of the options presented. Noland's book does not show a response w/ a 66H tank but of course there a S/N gaps. BTW, I would expect the tank you have is legit as they manufactured those tanks for SERVICE for many years and stamped them w/ the date of manufacture. Pete- Top

Re: C2 Surge Tank Date
My S/N 326 very early car. That is why I am asking. My buddy had S/N six cars from mine. Many of the numbers on our two cars where the same. My intake manifold was a litte earlier, but still most dates matched up pretty good. Unfortunitely he sold his car out. I wish I noticed his surge tank date!- Top
