Dennis..the 54 picture was a car I had many years ago. It was an original Pennant Blue car. When I first restored it I painted it white because I was new to painting and was told red was a difficult color.. I liked the car but really wanted it red..so I re-painted it red and it was spectacular.
The car was never judged but probably would have done okay..it was a very original car...with all the factory parts. Installing that converible top was a challenge.
FYI..at the time I did not appreciate the Pennant Blue and Shoreline beige combination as I now do.
Some things take time...like fine wine.
I still have those old Missouri NCRS plates somewhere..I took the car to an all GM car show..took all 5 top awards and the dealer that sponsored the car show bought the car for his personal collection.
I hate to say what I sold it for! Oh Well!!!Comment

Joe I work at the dealer & was there during the show. We still have the car. It still looks ok. Like most old cars does not get drivin enough. BillComment

Glad to hear the car is still around. I miss it! I have some other great photo's of the car. If I can find them ..I will post them. I don't think I have any pictures from that car show..too bad.
I remember I had a bad case of poison ivy during that weekend and was really suffering.
Have you been working at the dealership all this time? Seems to me the owner of the dealership had an old volkswagon at the time..is that correct or was it something else?Comment

I have only been there 14 years . They were our Corvette club sponser in the 70s,80s. No VWs but he had a 62? Corvair conv. He gave it to his brother in Cal.We have been a Chevy Dealer sense 1945. same owners 3rd generation.4th generation will be 16 this summer .BillComment

Were you the guy that I first talked to the morning of that car show when the car was being teched?
If so..I remember you and the dealership owner looking at the car and you made some complimentary remarks...based on owning a 54 if I recall.
