C2 valve to piston clearance

327, 462 heads, domed SHP pistons, LT1 cam. I measured valve clearance at 250 thousandths. Is that an acceptable number. I've seen reference to minimum clearances in the 80 to 100 range, but no reserence to max clearance.

measure the P to V clearance at 10 degrees BTC exhaust and 10 degrees ATC for the intake. the easy way is to use a light valve spring,set the running clearance, set the engine to the above settings and push down on the retainer and use a feller gauge between the valve stem tip and the rocker arm to check the clearance.

I recall the mininum recommended for a racing engine is 50 thou. When you use a OE type domed piston with an OE cam, it's not something you normally need to worry about, but it can be an issue with a very high compression piston and a long duration, high lift racing cam.
