'66 assembly manual shows double hook on jack hold down spring, JM calls for single, which is considered correct for a late '66?

Re: The 1965 AIM shows a change to the
Nov. 65 build 66 has single hook end. I suppose it could have been changed by a previous owner but it was single hook when I bought the car 20+ years ago.- Top

For what it's worth...
Noland Adams has this to say on pp 267 of his Vol 2 book:
"For 1963 through early 1965, the jack hold-down spring had a single loop on teh retainer on its free end. A double-loop retainer replaced the single-loop type on AIM date 10-19-64. We can't say for sure exactly when the double-loop spring reatinaer entered production. After the initial report by serinal number 108227 with a double-loop, the survey shows mixed results. The spring end was reported as having a single loop more often than a double loope. Late in 1095 production--perhaps as late as serial number 120000--the spring end switched over entirely to the double-loop type."- Top
