Re: SEAT BELTS FOR 58
The original seat belts for Early 58, through AIM approximately April 1, 1958, were a steel blue hammertone color. The color you describe might be the original color with possibly some minor sun fading. After Approximately 4-1-1958, the paddles matched the interior color.
My 58, VIN J58S103741 was built 2-3-58. It has blue belts and paddles, with a red interior.- Top

Re: SEAT BELTS FOR 58
I'd get 'em back and send 'em to Seat Belt Sity for restoration. Charlie Santorelli will get them correct with the lift paddles of the buckles painted hammertone for you! The paint was pretty distinctive (a blue/grey hue).
BTW, '58 belts are a pretty rare critter. NOS originals have sold for $1000 and upo!
You'll see Charlie's ads for Seat Belt Sity in the 'SERVICES' section of Driveline magazine. He sounds rough/gruff when you get him on the phone, but he's honest as the day is long and competent/efficient as all get out!- Top
