    C2 door latch assemby

    Hello all,

I'm looking for a driver side door latch assembly for a '63 I have in my shop. Everywhere I've looked, I've struck out, including eBay. Does anybody have one to sell? Driver quality is fine, I'm not looking for concours perfect (my customer drives this one and would like to be able to open the door from the inside). Thanks to any and all who reply.

if you have the original latch, it can be repaired so that the interior door pull works properly. remove the latch and observe where the lever(primary) activated by the interior door pull rod inserts. next look at the secondary lever that the primary acts on. take a screw driver and seperate the two levers, then take your mig welder and lay a bead about 1/8" thick on either of the levers. works every time. mike

        Mike,
Thanks for the tip... I was actually thinking of doing it the hard way before (grinding the rivet and repairing the wallowed out hole), but your method appears to be the easier way to go. I'll give it a try and let you know how it works out.

        Thanks again!

If it is just worn at the release cam, that can be easily fixed.

Actually replacing the rivet is rather easy. Get the old one out, use and old brake pin, and drill the size of the pin. Cut off the pin and weld the back side.
