    57 frt. suspension

need some advice: a mechanic is rebuilding frt. using a deluxe kit purchased from corvette america, though I think most sell same kit, my question concerns the springs. mechanic says my springs have been heated purposely to compress the springs maybe to make frt. lower don;t know, anyhow people in past on here has stated the new springs make car sit high don't you feel I should use new springs since I have them, cause old ones having been heated and a little collapsed but do I need to worry about new springs makking ftr. high if so what should be done now at time of bebuild to prevent thanks hope I getsome answers

IF your existing springs have been heated to compress them (and lower the car), then you definitely need to replace them and take whatever chances you need to take with replacements.

I would recommend goint to a source like Eaton Detroit Spring, which is the GM licensed restoration manufacturer for most Corvette springs, and taking a chance on their product. I think that it will work out just fine. I have many doubts about the real credibility of the GM Restoration Parts Program, but I do think that Eaton is probably your "least risk" option for new springs.

      Joe,
the springs are already included with the deluxe kit I already have
probably to late now to researce or get different springs I was just a litle concerned because of previous posts as to cars riding a little high using repo parts, there may be no problem ,plus engine it out of car so I really can't tell to much now I was mostly asking if anyone has had problem using springs from the kits sold by most of the part co.s or if any thing can be done at time of installation to insure proper hieght thanks for your comments

Oh, I missed the fact that you already had the springs although you were probably very clear about it in the original post. In that case, I'd just use the springs you have unless someone does have any contrary information. I still think that it will work out just fine.
