67 front spindle advice

The front right spindle has a small groove in it from where it appears the bearing has spun. The bearing and spindle are not burned up, but when I tried to install a new bearing on the spindle, it gets hung where the groove is. I used emery cloth and tried to smooth done the edges of the groove, but the new bearing still won't go on. Concerned that maybe the spindle is out of round.

After searching through the archives, I'm trying to understand if it makes sense to get the spindle machined and rechromed or junk it and try to find another used spindle

used ones are usually plentiful at carlisle, maybe even bloomington tho its been years since i attended the illinois event. mike

Thomas, as you probably know the mid years are different than the C3s but can be interchanged. Because I couldn't find any nice used ones I had mine machined and hard chromed, they look like new however it ran about $125 each for the job. I also had my steering column shaft hardchromed as well due to bearing damage.
