Sorry to bring up this topic that has been discussed before, but after searching the archives I can not get a clear answer.
I understand that there were at least two versions of Argent Silver used on Ralley wheels in the late 60s and early 70s. One version was a greenish-silver, while the other was plain-silver without the greenish tint.
I'm about to spend $$$ getting my 1967 wheels refinished and mounted with repro tires. After doing all this, I do *not* want to have some judge tell me that I have the wrong Argent Silver on my wheels.
In the archives, some people say that 1967 wheels used the plain-silver version, but others say that 1967 wheels used the greenish-silver version.
Is there a clear consensus on which version is correct for 1967? I note that the 1967 judging manual says the paint should match "DuPont paint code 9692L". Which version is that paint?
Aside from trying to get some Dupont 9629L paint, are any of the "Argent Silver" rattle cans available from various suppliers (such as Eastwood) known to be correct for 1967?
