C2 L79 Themo Housing

I thought I was gonna replace my thermostat housing so I ordered a replacement from CC. The casting seems really bad compared to the original in terms of legibility of the casting number and the "B1" marking. Also, the original seems to have a chamfered hole on the short boss side and the boss is quite a bit shorter.

I have attached a pic here. I am considering just using the old one and selling the replacement.

Does anyone have any pics of theirs to share?

Mine looks similar to yours(C.C. newer one). I bought mine from Paragon and my problem is the longer bolt doesn't seem to grab enough threads to bite down. It's like it is too tall. I know if I torque tighter, I'll pull the aluminum out. When I look from underneath, I could go with a bolt at least 1/2" longer. Also, my 67 manual calls for black phosphate bolts and they supplied cad. Hope this helps!

Tried to down load a picture of mine for you ....can't ? At any rate it looks like your 1st picture {B1}
