About a month ago someone posted an ebay link to an auction for a re-pop handle. It seemed to be very correct for a 69-74?? Has anyone followed up on the company that was selling this part, if so how does it measure up to an origional. What is the company name? Thanks Thad

There was more than one design during the 1968-76 period. 1968-69 had a cross-hatch pattern, which is incorrectly pictured in the 1970-72 judging guide. Some early 1968s did not have chrome down the top center of the handle. 1970-76? had a pattern of raised dots. I have not seen the reproduction, but one design would not be correct for all years. -

Check out issue number 162 of the Driveline, page 91, Services & Miscellaneious..."Emergency brake handle restoration." I've done business with this member recently and would speak very highly of him and his work. It would be worth your while to give him a call...I'm glad I did.

I first saw this part in ebay auction number 7952610099, which can still be viewed by searching on that item number. The seller is "Vette Masters" but the ad itself contains no direct contact info. You can contact the seller through his ebay ID if you have an ebay account. I believe he is continuing to sell these on ebay.
I emailed the seller when the listing came out and noted that the design of the plastic handle changed during the period he lists. I asked which version his repro matches. He replied with something like 1968-74, but I can't recall exactly. What I do recall is that his repro does not match my 67 handle.
I ended up sending my 67 handle (with peelimg chrome tip) to Jeff Salz, who advertises a restoration service in the Driveline. I don't have the handle back yet, but I've heard his work is quite good.
You may want to call Jeff and ask him if he has seen the repro. I think that only a side-by-side comparison would reveal how good the reproduction is for a 1970.Comment
