    66 Hood release cable question

My 66 hood release cable broke off at the bolt and guide end in the engine compartment. Just checking Corvette Central, Paragon, etc and it appears one has to buy the whole assembly with handle, etc. i just need the cable.

I checked with GM, no luck but was wondering are these cable the same past the C2 generation, ie into 1974 thus perhaps GM would still have this cable in stock.

Perhaps I just have to buy the entire assembly to get it right. Your advice is again appreciated.

I don't think that there's any way that you can replace just the cable on these things. I am absolutely certain that you can't on C3s. The handle and the cable are an integral, factory-assembled unit.

For C3s, GM never even sold just the handle and cable assembly. To get it you have to buy the entire set-up---handle/cable, outer cable sheath, and attaching bracket. I don't think that the C3 handle/cable is interchgangeable with the C2, though.
