    C3: Tach-drive distributor rebuild

I'm buying all the parts I need to rebuild my tach-drive distributor for my 1972 corvette coupe 350CID. Reason for rebuild is that cross-gear is chewed up on the gear and the main shaft, and advance doesn't operate properly (vacuum and spring weights) due to age and rust. There is no play in the shaft. Do I really need to change upper and lower bushings, or can I get away with leaving them in? Is there a really good tear-down/rebuild article I can get online somewhere?

    Thanks for your help.

Dave Fiedler has a good step-by-step tach drive distributor rebuild article on-line at www.tispecialty.com .

Great article John - thanks for the link!

I'm also in the process of trying to rebuild mine, and this should be a big help.
