    CONVERTIBLE TOP C1

WANTED TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF MY TOP. I WAS TOLD BY A LOCAL UPHOLSTERY SHOP THAT USING A TOP FROM AL KNOCH WOULD BE A MISTAKE SINCE THE QUALITY OF HIS TOPS HAVE DECLINED. WHERE CAN I BUY A TOP OF QUALITY,FIT AND,PRICE. THANK YOU.

Local top shop wants to make the extra bucks by selling you a top that they make money off of, rather than install a top that you have already purchased and not get the markup.

I just finished using an Al Knoch top for my '59. It fit VERY good, and was finished very well. I would recommend using a Al Knoch top in the future.

Thank you,all for your response.Maybe I should find another upholstery shop. Can anyone recommend one in the Philadelphia- South Jersey area. That doesn't raise the price when, they see a Corvette pull in. Also,I am very fussy and, demand quality work. Thank you.

...Or you could bring it to Carlisle in August and let Al have Gilbert install it there. It's probably a little late to get on his schedule, but call and ask for Dale. Can't say for sure, but his catalog lists an installation price of $525. If you have yet to get the top, you can get it there at "show" price and save shipping. But if you want them to date code the rear window, you'll have to say so in advance. Good Luck....Dick
