    54 Waterpump

    Hello
We have a problem with a waterpump on a 54 Vette.
The cating # 8706013 or 8106013 is that the right No.

We also look for a new waterpump for this Car.
A TRW No. or other No. will helb.
The problem is we live in Germany so we have to look all over the world.
    Thank you for you helb.

only 6 cyl chevy pump that'll work is a 235 ci vette engine pump. you won't find it at napa or car quest type stores. you'll probably have to get with one of the early vette dealers here in the usa. try driveline or hemmings. or come to corvettes at carlisle this august. good luck, mike

        Berndt-----

As Mike mentioned, the 1953-55 Corvette 6 cylinder waterpump was unique to the Corvette application. I don't know what the casting number was for this pump. However, the PART number for the complete pump assembly was GM #3706009. This pump was discontinued without supercession in August, 1966. NOS examples are probably as rare as hen's teeth (or, perhaps, a LOT more rare than hen's teeth). In any event, the above number is the number that you're cross-referencing to.

I don't know if either of the TRW numbers that you mentioned will SERVICE your application. I have a hunch that TRW does not manufacture a pump for your application, unless it's a "one-size-fits-all" sort of thing and is somehow constructed to fit more than one application. If the pumps you mentioned are catalogued to fit passeneger car applications, then I would say that means that they're not the right one for Corvette UNLESS it specifically says that they're applicable to Corvette, too.

One of the early C1 guys on this board, like Roy Braatz, may have some information on this, though.

          Re: 54 Waterpump

part number was #3706009 and Cast Number #3706011 Like Joe said it's only Corvette. What is wrong with it??? A bearing and seal can be bought to rebuild it. But no other 265 water pump in the world will work ( it must be a Corvette 265 pump)

Thank you for your good news !!!!

Have a major Brand a Rebuild kit in his Program.
We only have Catalogs that not show us the right
            parts #.

            Thank you from Berlin Germnay
