I would like to find pictures of the cars driven by Paul Goldsmith, Betty Skelton and Johnny Beauchamp who ran the production body corvettes 1,2,3 in the flying and standing start timetrials.

no, we built it up using the book chevy that supplied. we used the sedan delivery suspension parts with 6 the bolt wheels. i still have the book someplace. those eary FI had some type of fuel cut off while coasting and that leaned out the engine and we burned a piston, took it over to smokeys and put in a new one and drove the car back to PA. chevy gave us "aniline" to put in the fuel to raise the octane but that did not help. you drove the cars to the races back then. we quailified 12th on a single run down the beach. we had to take the engine apart for NASCAR to check it over at the old national guard armory before we got to run.

I would also like to see pictures of the 56/57 Corvettes being worked on at SEDCO and or Smokeys.

My research shows the cars passed through both locations between Nassau,Daytona and Sebring.

I am also trying to determine if the 57 team cars were sent directly from St.Louis to either SEDCO or Smokey for installation of the most current available racing upgrades or were they sent to Engineering in Michigan first.

Also..were the roll bars and shortened steering columns installed at engineering in Michigan or at SEDCO or Smokeys etc..

My 57 Nassau/Daytona/Sebring car is an unrestored time capsule and this would be a nice chapter of History to fill in the blanks

Take a look at the picture below. Can you identify the weird upright part on top of the fuel meter? Is this the early coasting shut off valve?

The only cars I have seen this on are my Nassau/Daytona car and again on a 57 team car photo in Nolands early 53-62 book page 175 which is either my car or the sister to my car.

If you check out the picture in Nolands book notice the big generator pulley..my car still has this generator

Also below notice the fuel unit still has the original foil tag

that has been so long ago i do not remember and we had to remove the FI unit for the next race as NASCAR outlawed the fords supercharger and the chevy FI

My daughter and I had a good trip out to California to visit the Law School and also met my friends son who is an engineer for the Toyota race team.

It looks like however my Wife and Daughter will go to Law School in Ann Arbor.

I have to make another trip this coming week..but I plan to call you upon my return.
