    C1 turn signal flashers

There are currently some 1956 & 1957 dated Tung-Sol turn signal flashers on Ebay (see link). The part number, manufacturer's name and date information on them are in black paint or ink. I have one NOS 1957 dated flasher in a GM box and about 20 1954 NOS Tung-Sol flashers individualy boxed in a case marked with the same date. All the information on each of these is impressed in the metal, not painted or ink stamped. I thought the black printed style was a later innovation and dated examples this early should have the markings impressed in the metal like those I have. I'd be interested in purchasing one of the 1956 flashers on Ebay if I thought it was correct (I'd probably have to compete with ten others on this board now that I've informed the marketplace that they're available). Can someone enlighten me?

Benard, Original '56 flasher was Signal-Stat. It was a small blockish rectangular shape, not round. It was clipped to the dash support and located right beside he ingition switch terminals. Believe the '57's were mounted to hed ash support which ran from dash to firewall per the AIM. These flashers may have been round, . egards,

Jim, Thanks for the response. Can you expound? Were they metal or plastic. How were they marked (if at all) and were they dated?

                  Hi Bernie,

My car is a '59-er but which bracket do you refer to since it isn't attached with a bracket in my car...

                  greetings,
                  Rob.
