My splash shields on my 61 are dented. One is pretty bad , the other not too bad. I am not sure if I should try to repair them or just replace them. I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks,Joe DeLuca

Re: CI SPLASH SHIELDS REPLACE OR REPAIR
Mine were pretty rusted surface wise and I may have tried to lift the car there one time:)!! Took them out, layed them on the ground and massaged back into shape using some wood blocks and clamps. Then spent a lot of time getting the rust out and many coats of DP primer to fill in the rust damage.
If I would have known how much time and work I would have bought new. BUT, they did turn out great.- Top

Re: CI SPLASH SHIELDS REPLACE OR REPAIR
The passenger side splash shield on my 59 had a series of extra holes drilled in them. So I purchased a reproduction piece from Paragon. The catalog emphasized the correctness of their piece ("precisely cut and formed to original GM drawing, 20 gauge steel"). I am no expert, but I was happy with the item. But, I don't have quite the aversion to good repro items as other members. With the NCRS member discount, I thought they were relatively inexpensive. Regards, - Kevin- Top
