Are all doors the same on a 66 corvette or did GM shape them to each body? I am finding that 67 doors fit better than 64 doors do and each door is shaped differently on all years. Also, Is a gray 64 door the same as the 66 gray doors? Any input appretiated.

Re: Doors
theoretically the c-2 doors should interchange BUT there were two outfits assembling them-st louis and ao smith. also need to consider that the first year of the c-2's are notorious for poor fit and that as the 67's came about, the guys on the line got better at making and fitting the various panels. i wouldn't be suprised if the coupe doors that didn't fit too well on the assembly line were "tweaked" by the door installers(top of door to body gap too wide-- heck, a 2"x 2" board, inserted between midsection of door and body and a little Bubba pushin on top of door, and the coupe leaves the line a little better in terms of fit. mike- Top

Re: Doors
David,
--------I believe that a 64 door will have the raised area around the handle at both points as well as the door lock, possibly. This will make it different than a 66 door where the fiberglass will be flat underneath the door handle and lock. Also there are some differences in the inner door behind the door panel. Fitment-wise they should interchange, just not the same.
--------Also, if either door has been repainted over the years I would almost expect them to have been reshaped somewhat. Hope this helps..........Bill S- Top
