Is the Signal-Stat 143 correct for 61/62 Corvettes? I've checked the archives but didn't see anything relative to 61/62 models. Thanks Rich

Re: Another Flasher Question
In 1961, the AIM calls out THREE GM PN's as allowable for the flasher function:
3758682
3758683
3783020
In 1962, the AIM retains the first two PN's and drops the third. I don't think the current version of the '61-62 Judging Guide tells us what's acceptable nor gives a 'translation table' (GM PN to mfgr specifics) like earlier or later JG books do...
BUT, the 1963-64 JG specifically recites what's acceptable and we gain a bit of serendipity because the 1963 base car (without optional backup lamps) used the SAME GM PN's for the flasher ('682 and '683). We're told the '63 base Corvette can have either a round, aluminium color canned Tung-Sol AP373V flasher or a rectangular canned (various colors) Signal Stat 143 flasher.
What minor differences in these parts there might be between the three years of usage (1961, 1962, and 1963), I can't tell you. Nor can I tell you what the one-year only, 3783020 flasher was that was qualified for use in '61 only.- Top

Re: Another Flasher Question
Jack,
Thanks for the response. I always thought the Signal Stat 143 was correct but could never verify it. Rich- Top
