What date code would correct for a Nov 66, built 67 for seatbelts. Is it also a 3 month previous date from vehicle production.

Re: 67 Seat Belts
When there is no advice to the contrary on dated components (Judging Guide or in the NCRS Judging Reference Manual), policy is 0-6 months prior to vehicle final assy. Sometimes there are exceptions where we know this/that slow moving item was acquired in 'batch' from the supplier and due to low production volume, we've seen the 6-month rule broken. But, in those cases, you'll find part specific guidance in one of the two judging reference books...- Top

Re: 67 Seat Belts
Don - Here's what my '67 (S/N 1476, 3rd or so week of Sept 1966) w/ Saddle interior has.
HAMILL 1967
MODEL # C10
35E66
Interior color probably has some effect on the production date of the belts in that popular colors might have a shorter time from seat belt manufacture to installation in the car while the more rare colors might have a longer lead time.
While I don't know when they started manufacturing the seat belts (really I guess it's the tags since they are identical to the late '66s) for 1967 production; I'd expect that probably July 1966 might be when they started making '67 production seat belts so you'd be looking at the earliest '67 belts having a 26 or 27E66 production ink stamp. I'd expect a car built in November to more than likely have belts dated later then that unless you're dealing with a rare interior color.
Hope this helps. Pete- Top

Re: 67 Seat Belts
If the seat belts are black I'd back the date up about 3 weeks to a month from date of assy. That is about the date on my original black belts. Colors could have been longer due to lower volume. My 2 cents- Top

Re: 67 Seat Belts
My standard black originals for a June 29.1967 convertible (22049) are:
Hamill 1967, C10, 7E67
That's a little over 4 months lesd. I think you will find lots of variance in the seat belt date to assembly. They probably had a seat belt storeroom and picked them at random.
