    c1 gas tank cover

on a 57: what type of cloth (cover) goes on top of the fiberglass cover that covers the gas tank, if it glues on I don't think I would want that because wouldn't it mess up the nice fiberglass pinted cover so does it just lay on top and is just to protect your soft top couldn't I just use a towel thanks

Depends on what you want! If you want originality, get the black felt-like material from a reproduction house, use the spray adhesive, and do it. It your goal is to protect the back window, use a towel. It's your car, and it's your decision.

I would also suggest placing a towel between the folds of the window when you have the top down - it protects the plastic from rubbing on its' self.
