I have a set of 73 front grills that need to be rechromed. Most of the old chrome has peeled off leaving the aluminum substrate. How can I remove the old chrome without harming the aluminum?

I agree with Chris; don't attempt to remove the chrome yourself. Also, the 73 and 74 grilles are not manufactured of aluminum substrate material. They are zinc diecast (i.e. "pot metal"). You will need to find a plater willing to work with zinc diecast. The majority of platers won't touch it.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
