Ok, I'm trying for the dumbest question award, but since I have no ego, here goes. How do I get the cover that says "Corvette" off the front to install the license plate? I don't want to do it, but the local law enforcement folks have another idea. I read the owner's manual cover to cover and I know how to install a baby seat, why it's important to always wear a seat belt, how to jack the car with out causing a law suit and all sorts of other stuff I thought I alredy knew.(If it is in the owner's book, tell me where)
Thought I'd ask before I break something.

They haven't "caught" me yet, and I've been driving my C5 for over a year. We have 2 tags here in Maryland too. I just don't like the "look" of a front plate. When I get pulled over and get my "equipment violation", I guess I'll put it on. Chuck

99% of them here in NY don't have it either, but I hear they are getting sticky about it. I'm waiting til it happens, but at least now I know how to do it.

Here on Long Island NY I got pulled over for not having the front plate on my C5 last summer within one week of taking delivery. Not only that, the cop had some attitude, you would of thought I had robbed a bank.
Well neighbor, you may want to reconsider your option. It is up to $55 per ticket and I have heard from 3 different people this week that just got a ticket. The state appears to be cracking down.
In Minnesota, the cops waited outside a Corvette meeting and gave each of the cars with no front plate a ticket. In MN the tag is $300. Front plate not required on cars 20 years and older, with collector or year plates, but you have to designate that you want to display one or two plates. If you designate two plates and use only one, you can still be fined. You would think they have better things to do.
The St. Charles, Illinois police did the same thing in 2003 at the "Corvettes Only" parking entrance at Bloomington; every Corvette with only one Illinois plate displayed got a fat ticket as they entered the parking area. Welcome to St. Charles!
