I am in the last steps of the car resto on my 60 and i am now working on the softtop and i am wondering how and where the the filler extensions (see picture) should be fitted ? maybe some one got some close up picture how the are fitted

another Q: how should i fit the rearbow weatherstrip should it hold by glue or by tacks ?

They go between the door and soft top lid under the frame assy. and the rear is glued and tacked.

The filler extensions in your photograph go on the ends of the rear bow. They are glued on and attached with screws where indicated.

The rear bow weatherstip is held on by glue and a long thin white or clear plastic extrusion that looks like a thick wire. It gets pushed up under the weatherstrip into the bow. It's difficult to accomplish. I believe a lubricant like soap helps. I can't explain this well here. Not sure if the ST12 shows this. It should, but I don't know for sure.

Both ends of this extension screw on. The forward ends of the extension are retained through the holes in the front tab. The lower retaining screw for the side window weather strip goes through one of them and a self-tapping screw goes through the other one into a hole in the soft top frame just inboard of the weatherstrip. The tab you see here is captured under both the weatherstrip and the top material. The rear of the extension is attached by 2 self-tapping screws and washers to some holes that exist in the rear bow. These extensions are totally independant of the rear bow weatherstrip, and can be changed without disturbing the same. BTW, the rear bow weatherstrip on a 60 is retained by staples and the rear bow swing latch screws as well as the top stowage snap screws. No glue is used like the "fuzzy rope" weatherstrip on pre-59 models, and the retainer spline did not come into use until 1961. I will look and see if I have any pics of this area when I get home tonight. I think that the AIM also shows how these extensions attach, but I can't swear to that.

thanks John for the answer i have checked the car of Rob Musquetier this evening at his home how the filler extension are fitted and its quite clear to me now
will try to fix it in the weekend
