ON YESTERDAYS DISCUSSION ABOUT TORQ-THRUST II WHEELS I DIDN'T SEE MENTION OF THE CORRECT BACKSIDE SPACING TO ORDER. WHAT WOULD THE CORRECT DIMENSION BE FOR A 15' x 6" WHEEL? AMERICAN RACING OFFERS A 3.00 TO 3.25 BACKSPACE DIMENSION.

Re: TORQ-THRUST II WHEELS
Jeff----
The Corvette 15 X 6 wheels had an OFFSET of +.06". Ordinarily, this would equal a "back spacing" of 3.06" (assuming that the back space measurement is taken from the very rearmost edge of the rim to the mounting plane on the center section of the wheel. If you have a choice of only 3.00 and 3.25, I think that I might have to recommend going with the 3.25" to ensure that you have caliper clearance. You'll likely end up having a little more positive offset than stock, though. I don't think that it will be a problem if you're using tires with a cross sectional width about the same as stock. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Correction TORQ-THRUST II WHEELS
I may have mispoke regarding the backspacing I reported last night. I measured from the mounting area of the wheel (mounting pad) to the inside of the rim lip, from a description on the web, backspace measurement should be to the outside of the rim. If this is the case, my TT's backspace measure closer to 3.7" I can provide a more accurate measurement tonight, I'm going from memory this morning at work.
Sorry for the confusion.- Top
