John, As I understand your post about a 2 x 4 car, I would want to remove the gear and rotate it 180 degrees and re-install to make a vacuum advance single-point distributor work. Correct? I have a 59 2 x 4 car that has the 891 dual-point distributor. I wanted to install a single-point vacuum advance distributor to make it run cooler and be more enjoyable for the street. Did you orient the the distributor differently when you re-installed? Thanks in advance.
