62 trunk stuff all gone-do I need a tire hold down

All the trunk stuff like jack, handles, seals, pads, retainers were gone from my car. I went to Paragon to pick up a few items and they sell a tire hold down bolt seal. About 1.5" diameter, 1/2" thick with a hole in the middle. I cannot find where this goes in the AIM. It looks like it could go on the bolt and slip into the top of the plywwod cover cup but that does not make sense to me because dust and stuff would get around the plywood edges anyway and the seal would be destroyed when the bolt is tightened.

Anybody know if this is something that was really in a '62 and where it goes?

Chris, I won't get this exactly right, but...

...crawl under your car. The weld nut that accepts the long hold down bolt goes through that rubber washer just before it threads into the nut. Best, Dennis

Let me reword that...

...crawl under your car. Locate the weld nut/bracket that accepts the long spare tire hold down bolt. The bolt goes through that rubber washer just before it threads into the weld nut. Probably a seal that really wasn't needed...???
