    Re: '69 ignition coil

    Marc----

I don't know of anyone that rebuilds coils, per se. It's pretty hard to do since once the top crimp is "uncrimped", it pretty much destroys the "can" as far as reusing it goes.

Paul Baker, the "head guy" at Goat Hill Classics of Long Beach, CA manufactures "reproduction" coils. He manufactures the "cans" with all of the various embossed scripts, "numbers", etc. He then uses all new "innerds". I don't know where he gets these. Lastly, he uses top sections which are salvaged from other coils, probably the less desirable types from the 60s since all used the same tops with the embossed "Delco-Remy" script.

So, I guess that Paul is the "go-to guy" for coils. I don't think that anyone else does it.

            Marc,
I found my coil (202) on Ebay, NOS for under $100.00. I waited awhile but got what I wanted by being patient but then again, maybe you need it now.

I've bought several parts from him including water pumps, coils, starter, fuel pumps, etc. He can be a little slow in shipping so I have had the best luck by just buying the part from him at a show.

              Good luck,
              Mark
