On a 57, I know that the water pump pulley and crank pulley should be semi-gloss black. Does it really matter what type of semi-gloss I use? Eastwood sells a 10-20% finish. Am I being too picky? What type of black should the fan and the fan shroud be? Generator bracket, orange or black? I'm taking votes!

The crank pulley is only black if it's bolted on; if it's riveted to the balancer, it's orange. Krylon #1613 Semi-Flat works well for black items. The generator pivot bracket (at the exhaust manifold) and heat shield are also black (installed at St. Louis). The generator adjusting brace (that comes through the slot in the engine mount bracket) should be black (it's well-documented that this brace was installed at St. Louis, not Flint Engine, although I don't know if the latest version of the '57 JG has caught up to this).
