I hear they revised the HP for the Z06 to 500+ hp. The Standard C6 to 415.

they will be 505 HP with no change in the coming years according to dave hill speaking at the C-5/C-6 bash at the NCM. i was at the seminar when he stated this. they are mean looking cars. if mrs clem increases my allowance next year i may get one.

The LS7 is the first engine to be rated under a new SAE standard that requires "third party certification".

The new ratings are 505 HP @ 6300 with a peak torque rating of 470 lb-ft @ 4800.

These are 5 HP more, but 5 lb-ft less torque than the rating information that was released back in January.

The plan is for Z06 to be 15-20 percent of production, and maximum annual capacity is about 35,000 Corvettes, so that's up to 7000 per year once production is up to full speed, which will take some time.

Interestingly, '06 Z06 production begins July 25, and they will be built with '05 coupes and convertibles. Production of '06 coupes and convertibles does not begin until September 12.

GM will announce the MSRP sometime in June - probably the latter half. It will most likely be somewhere in the sixties, but "estimates" from "knowledgeable sources" are all over the place. My guess is mid to mid-high sixties.

The base car will be very well equipped (1LZ). There is an "upgrade" equipment package (2LZ) of do-dads, and a few stand alone fluff options (Nav, polished wheels), but all the hard core performance equipment in the base 1LZ equipment package.

I think GM is planning the build based on 80 percent 1LZ.

I just read from someone that was at the Museum for the Birthday Bash. $85,000 for the BASE Z06 and $1??,??? for the top end one.

with a loaded vert costing close to $65K i would think the Z0-6 would go for more. if they do sell in the $65K range they had better up the % to better than 50% to meet the demand
