    1954 trunk lock, opened!

    Thanks for everyones help, it turned out to be the trapeze bar on the top latch that came loose and jambed. Twisted the bezel around the key hole and the clip inside came off inside allowing a screwdriver to wiggle the bar out. Replaced the bezel and trapeze and all is well again,
