C1 Wiper motor lead

I bought a correct (924) wiper motor for my '56 at a swap meet this past weekend. I want to use it to replace the truck wiper motor currently in place. It suffers from the common malady of broken/missing power lead. I'd like to replace the lead and see how badly I got took. Can someone advise what gauge and color of insulation the power lead should be? Just in case it actually works I'd like to disassemble/reassemble only once.

If it's the same as a 60, brown, I have one you can have. I used my original and I have one left from Lectric Limited.

Larry, Thanks for the offer. If brown is correct I'll make arrangements to meet you. The one on my truck wiper motor is green. Do you know what gauge the wire is? Did you get to Riverport Sunday? I found several bargains. Regards, Bernie

I could only find the W/S wiper diagram for the 61-62s and it shows 18ga.

I think it's 18 gauge. We're less then a mile apart, I'll Email you.

Thanks, 18 ga. sounds about right but I don't think it will be on the wiring diagram since it's part of the motor. Regards, Bernie
