Top bid ended at $225,300.

The pictures showing various undercarriage shots had one photo close up of the M22 trans stamping. You could see where a stamping had been x'd out and a new stamping for the date. This stamping is strange P1K23C T. Obviously the date is incorrect for the vin # 14630. This car is like a April 11th build. Don't know what the letter T following the stamping would be for.

Anyway the write up says trans and rear are all original. I am doubtful about this transmission being "thee original".

There's no way of knowing if the top bid was $225,300. That's just the bidding increment over the next highest bidder's maximum bid. It's not necessarily the high bidder's maximum bid. This phenomenon occurs only on reserve price auctions. In this case, let's suppose that the reserve price was the same as the "buy it now" price of $750,000. If the high bidder had bid, say $600,000, then his bid shown on eBay would only have gotten to the bidding increment over the next lower bidder since the reserve price was not met.
