Occasionally, when starting the engine cold with the choke working and set, the engine starts with "way too high" of an idle. It drops to a normal high idle with a kick of the pedal, which I believe means the vacuum break is working properly. Do I need to adjust the high idle cam and/or lever to eliminate the excessively high idle I sometimes get on initial startup?

Re: '66 #3367 CHOKE SETTING
Rob, I had same problem on my 66.High choke idle untill 1 kick of pedal. I knew I had to adjust the choke high idle but didn't realize how. several of the regulars even sent me a diagram. Need a screw driver to twist the tang away from the choke cam. There is a slot for screwdriver on tang. I'm sure you will get the same help I got. worked perfect. Good Luck, Don- Top

Re: '66 #3367 CHOKE SETTING
Don,
I found the problem. The tang lever with the slot in it was actually catching on the round piece of plastic on the bottom of the plastic choke cam. Bent the tang a little and it works fine now. Thanks again...- Top
