I am attempting to replace my 1965 turn signal switch. The wiring harness plug needs to get past/under the escutcheon. I cannot get the escutcheon to slide off the steering column jacket after removing the two screws. On top of the escutcheon appeared to be a small set screw which I stripped out when loosing it. Any ideas on how to get my harness past this?

Re: C2 Turn signal / escutcheon
If you pull the bowl off, after removing the three screws that retain it onto the tube, the escutchen will come right off, then you can tilt the connectors and push them thru the hole in the escutchen. The whole thing assembles as a unit.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: C2 Turn signal / escutcheon
Bill,
I pulled it off ... a little soap and off it went. It seems a compression spring was holding it on the steering mast jacket. The escutcheon had two larger screws holding it on the bottom. The third screw... was that the little set screw on top?( that I need to drillout and retap) Thanks for you help ...Ed- Top
