62 vette glass installation

Hello. I have a 1962 corvette.
I'm trying to install my side door glass in the rubber and in the metal channel.No matter what I do , I can't get it to go in. Does any one know how to get the glass in the rubber and the metal channel so it fits and seats properly? Any help would be appreciated..You can e-mail me at my regular e-mail address if you want.

Make very sure there is nothing left in the metal channel before you insert the rubber. If done you should have no problem inserting the glass.

No personal experience but I have read that a liberal use of water with dish washing detergent will allow it to slip in. Water and soap will dry and disolve later.
