C1- 62 Soft top weatherstrip retainer

Hello: I'm installing a soft top for a freind on a 62. I got a weatherstrip kit
from Paragon and the horizontal weatherstrip retainer strip that is located closest to the windshield header will not fit. It is identical to a 59, I compared the two. You can cut and drill and extra hole and it will work. Has anyone ran into this installing w/s on a 62. All other retainer strips fit, this only concerns the one closest to the windshield. I am installing convertible top weatherstrip right now. The front most hole is drilled to accept a sheet metal screw, not the screw/T-nut as the others. Also note two out of four straight retainers are longer than the others. The shorter ones are used in the front. The corresponding front weatherstrip has a divot on the underside to accomodate screwheads that hold the front bow to the side rails.

I am not sure of the orientation of the curved edge on the retainers. It seems like the curve should go towards the outside of the car to cant the outside flap of the weatherstriping into a drip edge. If I put it towards th the inside, I am able to stretch the outer edge of the weatherstriping inot place. But neither way seems like the obvious correct fit. Which way are your orienting the retainers?

Mike: Many thanks for the reply. I'm going back to work tomorrow on this project. The front one is the only one i'm having trouble with. It looks like this retainer goes on a 59/60 instead of a 62. The screws holes are different between the two. Thanks Jerry
