Re: E bay matching #s ????
Don,
The tank sticker doesn't seem to be on the ebay listing at this time. However, the sticker will show 390HP for all 427 engines on the upper portion. Further down, under Comfort & Con it will indicate if the engine was converted to 400HP.(CONV TO 400)- Top

Re: E bay matching #s ????
When you got 400 HP (Three carbs and hyd cam) it was shown on the build sheet as an option to the 390 motor. I asked the same question at a chapter meet a few weeks ago when I only read the top few lines of the build sheet and noticed the tri power set up. One of the more experienced guys pointed it out to me.

Re: E bay matching #s ????
Don, I e-mailed the seller and they sent me a copy of the tank sticker. It was indeed a 390HP (no tri-power option listed anywhere) with a Powerglide. He states the previous OWNER made it a "400HP 4 speed car". The side exhaust was also added by a previous owner. The block stamping looked good to me but I'm not an expert. I do know of 2 435HP 67's that had restamped motors (started life as small block cars) that achieved Top Flight and BG honors without being detected.- Top

What part of the numbers don't match a '67...
400hp vette??? "Matching numbers" does not mean "Original". The term "matching numbers" came into existence from a legal standpoint to protect dealers/sellers. All that it means is the numbers "match" what the car is presented to be. Sooo again buyer beware. They did a nice job on the pad though.- Top
