Can anyone advise on what manufacturer/seller and what model # steel rear leaf spring will give my '69 the correct ride height in the rear. The one that is on the car now allows the car to ride way too high. Thanks

Re: 1969 Convertible leaf spring problem
I have the same thing with my 1966. This is a email I sent to eaton spring and this is the reply. P.S. I did not buy one yet if you do let me know if it works.
Tony
Hi I need a rear leaf spring for a 1966 corvette big block 427 ci. 390 hp. do you have one and how much. I have had 2 spring put in this car and both makes the car sit to high in the rear. all I keep hearing it will settle if hear this one more time. One leaf spring was from corvette central and I was told it would be perfect NOT. Both springs have JP or JR in white paint on ti. I was told by NCRS corvette guys you can help me.
We have springs for the Vette, however they are not the original style. the original style springs had unique ends configurations and that tooling is no longer available. Additionally the steel thickness used by GM is no longer made.
The springs we offer have the same spring rate and loaded height as the original spring.
The Vette springs are 159.95 each plus shipping.
In order to provide shipping cost, we need the Zip Code of where we will be sending your order.
We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Money Orders, Wire Transfers, checks and cash. No COD.
Due to the number of E-mails we receive, we request that you attach this E-mail to your response.
Failure to do so may result in you not receiving a response to your response.
Thank You
Mike

The spring in your car now is a reproduction made by John R. Spring Service, in Warren, Michigan; every one I've seen results in excessive ride height. The John R. HD 7-leaf springs are much better for ride height, but are very stiff. I have an Eaton-Detroit reproduction standard 9-leaf rear spring in my '67, and it works fine with the stock end link bolts and new donuts; the rear sat about 1" too high after I installed the spring, but after 100 miles or so it settled out nicely. If you decide to buy from Eaton, make sure they know you want the 9-leaf with three flat and six cambered leaves, not the '63-only 9-leaf with all nine leaves cambered.- Top
