OK, I finally was able to restore and install the transmission inspection plate for my 1955 powerglide and find that it does not cover the hole that is used to to tighten/loosen the bolts that connect the flywheel to the torque converter. Based on the fact that there is an empty threaded hole neat this area, I suspect that there is supposed to be some kind of hole cover here?
If so, can any of you tell me what it looks like or where I can get one? Thanks.
